Comedy for a Cure 2020 Honorees
In our Summer Edition on July 26, we honored Shafali Jeste, MD, Co-Director of the TSC Center of Excellence at UCLA, with our TSC Champion Award for her groundbreaking research in autism and TSC and setting the stage for preventative interventions. Dr. Jeste was introduced by Norma Vazquez, mother to Olivia with TSC.
During the Fall Edition on October 18, we honored The Carroll Family with the Courage in Leadership Award for unwavering generosity and dedicated service to the TSC community through their advocacy for Federal TSC research funding, improved transition care, and treatments for TSC-associated neuropsychiatric disorders (TAND). The Carroll family were introduced by Rob and Shannon Grandia.
We also paid tribute to Edina Kiss, TSC Champion, for her compassionate partnership over the past decade through her cause-related marketing and in-kind support of Comedy for a Cure and other nationwide TS Alliance events.
TSC Community Roundtable
Finally, TS Alliance President and CEO Kari Luther Rosbeck was joined for a roundtable discussion on the importance of TSC research by three incredible women in the TSC community: Megan Della Costa, a young adult with TSC and former TS Alliance Junior Leader, Kaylan O’Hara, mom to two-year-old Bodie with TSC, and Dr. Jeste.
Thank you to all the generous sponsors who made these two nights of comedy possible!
