The LAM Foundation is now accepting abstracts for the 2020 International LAM Research Conference. Submission Deadline: Friday, January 31, 2020.
Studies on basic, translational, and clinical/psychosocial aspects of tuberous sclerosis and lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) are welcomed. To begin your submission you must log in to the Foundation’s grant/abstract website – CLICK HERE.
Your submission could be chosen for one of the following:
- Platform Presentation/Travel Award: All early stage investigators will have an opportunity to be chosen for a platform presentation. This will entitle you to The Francis G. Byrnes Travel Award. This $1,000 award will help cover some of the costs for travel to the conference. Notification of platform presenters will be after 2/28/2020.
- Early Stage Investigator’s Symposium (see details below): The four co-chairs of the ESI Symposium (Issam Ben-Sahra, PhD, Debbie Clements, PhD, Chase Hall, MD, and Hilaire Lam, PhD) will be selecting several abstracts to present during the Thursday afternoon symposium. (You will need to arrive in Cincinnati by Thursday morning.) If you attend the ESI Symposium you will get a discount on your registration too!
- One Minute Abstracts: The Poster Chair, Vera Krymskaya, PhD, will ask up to six (6) abstract authors to present a summary of their research in one minute at the podium during the Wine and Cheese Poster Reception, Friday, May 1, 2020, from 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm.
- Poster Presentation: All posters will be on display in the scientific presentation meeting room.
- Poster Award: The most meritorious poster in basic science, clinical, and translational fields will be announced at the Friday Awards Banquet (6:30 to 8:30 pm) and presented with a $200 prize.
EARLY STAGE INVESTIGATOR’S SYMPOSIUM (ESI Symposium) 4/30/2020 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM: This year, The LAM Foundation announces the addition of another aspect to their research conference. They would like to engage our younger LAM researchers with a symposium just for the “early stage investigator” as defined by the NIH. The purpose of the ESI Symposium is to stimulate scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration among the next generation of LAM scientists. The meeting will showcase early-stage investigator research and facilitate interactions with senior investigators to highlight the translational potential of LAM basic research into the clinic.
Notification of acceptance and selection for presentation as a Platform presenter, ESI presenter, or poster format will be sent to the submitting author via email sometime after February 28, 2020. This will provide time for presenters to register for the conference before the Early Registration Deadline of March 21, 2020.
