Community Gatherings

April 2, 2014:  Join the TS Alliance of Greater Chicago for an Educational Meeting from 7 to 9 pm at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, 800 Biesterfield, Elk Grove, IL.  Dr. Sharon Hirsch, Section Chief, Child & Adult Psychiatry at the University of Chicago will discuss "Psychiatric & Behavioral Issues Common in TSC."  For complete information, including how to RSVP, download the event flyer

Special Events

Save the dates! The annual Step Forward to Cure TSC walkathons are scheduled for May 17, 2014 at Lake Storey Recreational Area in Galesburg, IL and May 31 at Ty Warner Park and Pavilion in Westmont, IL. Come out to be a Super Hero for the TS Alliance.  Wear your favorite super hero costume, be it a cartoon character, doctor, teacher or simply come as you are!  Thank you for all the support in the past and we look forward to another exciting year raising funds to support the goal:  a cure for TSC! The TS Alliance of Greater Chicago had their first 2014 Community Gathering at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center on January 12. The successful holiday party brought together the local TSC community for food, fun and a cookie exchange!


The TS Alliance of Greater Chicago held a successful potluck gathering on October 20, 2013 at Busse Woods Forest Preserve. The local TSC individuals and families were able to get together for an afternoon fun, food and support organized by Community Alliance Chair Geri Greenberg. Special thanks to Geri and all who contributed and were able to come out and make community connections!

The TS Alliance of Greater Chicago held their second community support event on July 31, 2013 at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Several individuals and families got together to share their stories and get to know the Chicago community.

On May 18, 2013, the TS Alliance of Greater Chicago held the annual Step Forward to Cure TSC in Galesburg, IL. It was a great day for all attendees who enjoyed good company, food, and entertainment while bringing hope to thousands of families living with TSC.  Thank you to all the volunteers that made the event such a success and a special thank you to Karen Johnson-Wenger for her incredible success and dedication as walk chair! Amazing job raising over $8,600!

Also on May 18, 2013, the TS Alliance of Chicago held its other annual Step Forward to Cure TSC in Westmont, IL. It was a great day for all attendees who enjoyed good company, food, and entertainment while bringing hope to thousands of families living with TSC.  Thank you to all the volunteers that made the event such a success and a special thank you to Lisa Smiley for her incredible success and dedication as walk chair! Amazing job raising over $34,000!
